120km and 3200m Vertical. Great ride, on of the must-be-done!

Your start your ride in front of your accommodation in Andermatt and bike towards Hospental, Zumdorf and Realp. Here starts a 13km and 890m climb to the famous Furkapass at 2400m. After making the pass, its a really nice downhill passt Belvedere where you can get a view to the Rhone-Glacier. Just follow the tracks of the famous Steam Train of Furka, past Gletsch all the way down to the sunny Ulrichen on the bottom of the sunny and warm Rhone Valley.
Here your start a long and constant climb to the highest roadpass of the Swiss Alps. Its about 1100m and 12km to the 2457m high pass of Nufenen. Inbetween are climbs with more than 10% and the whole climb is averaging 8%. This road is not as popular as the Gotthard road to get to Ticino, so there is not as much traffic and anough room for bikers to enjoy the landscape. From the Pass there is a really nice and long downhill along the beautifull Bedretto Valley. Its about 40km spectacular landscape and not much traffic to Airolo. Enjoy the italian flair and maybe a nice Pizza next to the 2 restaurants opposite of the trainstation.
Gotthard is really popular among the tourists, so here is a lot of traffic. Motorbikes, Cabriodrivers, Holidaymakers with all kind of cars want to drive over the pass, so traffic can be a nuisance especially at the weekends. But there is a solution......
The world famous Via Tremola is a parallel road up the Gotthard made out of coblestones. 13km and 900m on pretty smooth coblestone, not as hard as the Paris-Roubaix but after 2200m vertical and 100km in your legs this is challange. But a rewarding one. No traffic and great views..
Once you made up the Gotthard pass, its only dowhill all the way to the Lodge and Hostel Basecamp Andermatt. Enjoy a great steak on our outside BBQ area or a nice relaxing sauna.. You have deserved it.
